FAQs

Can I hire a container to use as a self store?

Yes, you can use our secure containers to store whatever you like. We have containers available from 8 foot to 32 foot long so just choose the right size for you!

Where can you place a container?

As long as the ground is relatively flat and stable you can place them anywhere. Please note, site permits are required where containers are to be placed on a public road. Skip lights are also required on a public road which we can arrange for you.

How do you ensure the security of the containers?

The containers we hire all feature Kaba expertT locks, a highly secure reversible key locking system which protects against bumping, picking and drilling and is burglary resistant according to DIN 18252 Grade P3. Insuring the unit and its contents is the hirer’s responsibility, not Nixon Hire’s.

How are the containers delivered?

Each container will be transported on specialised trucks, by our fully qualified drivers who will position the container safely as previously agreed.

Can you supply any additional items to fit out the containers?

Yes, we can supply container racking and lighting for a small fee. If you have any further requirements such as lights and electricity points we can also look at fitting these for you.

Do Nixon Hire provide lift plans?*

Yes. Each hire will come with a free of charge lift plan, however, we are also able to offer an Appointed Person Lift Plan. This plan involves a fully qualified employee of Nixon Hire visiting your site to take measurements and assess the area in which the container will be situated. This means that we can take the pressure off you and your health and safety teams when it comes to correctly placing and transporting the containers, meaning no costly implications further down the road.

Can I have a container painted in my brand colours?*

Yes. We find that many customers placing long term hires require this service. If you require your containers to be painted a specific or bespoke colour we are able to do this for you at a minimal cost. Simply tell us your colour requirements at the time of placing a hire and we will do the rest. Please note there is a charge to paint and to return to the original colour.

*Please note, custom container paint requests and Appointed Person Lift Plans will incur additional costs. In addition, there is a minimum hire period of 26 weeks for custom painted container units.
