As announced last month, Nixon Hire have unveiled a very unique excavator, all in the name of raising funds and awareness for Cancer Research UK.
Having recently experienced the devastation caused by cancer, the family plant, accommodation and toilet hire business has chosen Cancer Research UK as their nominated charity due to the positive and proactive approach they adopt in finding cures for cancers.
Keen to find innovative ways to raise funds, which could be aided by their supply chain and supported by their customer base, Nixon Hire have worked with Volvo Construction Equipment to produce a very striking bright white excavator which carries the Cancer Research UK branding and their strap line, 'Let's beat cancer sooner'.
What makes this charity excavator different - apart from its colour - is that ALL of the revenue generated from the hire will be donated to Cancer Research UK.
Nixon Hire Managing Director, Chris Nixon commented;
"There are over 200 known types of cancer, all of which need a cure. The funding required to support this challenge is substantial and as Cancer Research UK is entirely funded by public donations, Nixon Hire have set a fundraising target for 2013 of £50,000 to help beat cancer."
"We are delighted that Kilmac have committed to hiring our charity excavator for the whole year. As this project is all about raising money and awareness for Cancer Research UK we are charging a higher rate than usual for this excavator, so we are extremely pleased to know that we can commit to making a generous donation at the end of the year."
Chris Nixon added:
"Kilmac are a much valued customer of Nixon Hire and are a company we have worked with for many years. Their participation in our fundraising activity is very much appreciated and demonstrates a true partnership approach to our business operations. We look forward to hearing the response the machine receives when it goes on to its first site!"
Richard Kilcullen Joint Owner of Kilmac commented;
"We have used Nixon Hire to supply our site equipment for a considerable number of years now and have a great relationship with our local depot in Dundee. When we heard there was an opportunity for us to support this project, we registered our interest in being involved straight away."
"For us, hiring the excavator has the ideal mix of business practicality, as well as the important charitable element."
"Kilmac are delighted to be able to use this machine for the 12 month period and are proud to know that we have contributed a significant donation to an extremely worthwhile cause."
