COVID-19 UPDATE 27th March 2020

27 March 2020

The Government has included the Hire Industry in the list of businesses that are exempt from closure. Our Depots remain open to enable the provision of equipment to those supporting the UK and the Health Service in the fight against COVID-19.

Our products are being used to provide emergency accommodation and facilities in a range of vital sectors.

Following conference calls with Depot Representatives from around our Depot Network we have jointly agreed an action plan in order to further mitigate the risk from staff working in our Depots - our front-line workers.

The action plan:

  • Nixon Hire will only supply equipment to Customers who are deemed ‘Essential’ to the supply chain, in the fight of Coronavirus and/or those customers who require equipment necessary, in order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus
  • Any other enquiries will not be prioritised in the interim period
  • Nixon Hire will prioritise the servicing of equipment on hire to Customers who are deemed ‘Essential’ to the supply chain, in the fight  of Coronavirus and/or those customers who require equipment necessary,  in order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus
  • All collections will be deferred where possible, in order to mitigate the risk of returning contaminated equipment into depots
  • The Depots will remain open with a skeleton workforce only to serve the ‘Essential’ work sites / customers as detailed above
  • The skeleton workforce will be split where possible into groups. Each Group will work alternate weeks as defined by the Depot Manager
  • All hires in the interim period will be for a minimum 1 month in order to reduce the amount of resource required to deal with each transaction
  • All staff have been reminded they must always follow the Public Health guidelines at all times - if it’s not safe, don’t do it. Safety is our Priority

All Central Support staff remain working from home.

Best wishes for the well-being of you and your family.
