New PDA's for Nixon Hire's toilet division
11 April 2013
Embracing the latest in PDA technology, Nixon Hire are rolling out state of the art Motorola MC65 devices across our toilet hire division.
David Rutherford, Transport Service Manager commented; "After undertaking a trial period, we selected the Motorola MC65 handsets to introduce into our toilet hire operations as they are much more rugged then the previous models we have used. Durability is a very important consideration as we need to ensure the equipment can cope with the demands we place on it and remain operational for a number of years, not months."
Nixon Hire have used PDA's for a number of years but as well as the new handsets being much more robust, the Motorola technology allows us to integrate our internal IT infrastructure in a much more effective way. Using our existing Paragon system we can schedule and implement the most efficient way to service our toilets which are out on hire with our customers. The introduction of the new PDA's will not only help us plan and operate the quickest service route, they are also a major benefit to the quality of information we can give our customers. Due to live information being relayed from our systems to and from the drivers, we can give a precise arrival time, identify access problems, implement route changes as well as providing instant proof of service.
With a view to our internal systems eventually becoming paperless, the devices also help towards this goal as they cut out paperwork all together - everything is stored and sent via the handset.
The implementation of the new PDA's will be completed by the end of 2013.
