Fuel savings of Ј100 per month predicted

With the dark nights closing in this month, Nixon Hire has invested in the latest lighting towers from SMC. The TL-90 Telelight is one of the most fuel efficient lighting towers available, offering fuel consumption that is 25% lower than previous models with no compromise on performance. Featuring 4 X 1000 watt metal halide lamps on a hydraulic mast that rotates 360 degrees, these lights are sure to be popular.

The TL-90 lights also feature an Eco Sensor that switches the lights on and off between dusk and dawn, saving more fuel and the need for an operator to manually start and stop each unit every day. On large motorway jobs or events, this feature alone could potentially save many man hours each day, not to mention fuel savings and reduced CO2 emissions.

Commenting on the latest addition to the ever expanding Nixon Hire fleet, Chris Nixon (Joint Managing Director) commented; "After extensive evaluation between suppliers, and listening to feedback from a selection of customers, we were very impressed by the additional features of the TL-90. In particular, we like the innovative Eco Sensors and automatic mast deployment feature once the handbrake is released." Chris added; "With fuel prices at record levels, these lights also meet our criteria to invest in the most efficient machines meaning our customers benefit from our calculated fuel savings of approximately £100 per month on a typical job".

The lights have been deployed across the Nixon Hire network of depots in Northern England and Scotland.
